Scout Aid was founded in 2022 to provide financial assistance to members of Texas’ professional baseball scouting community, as they traverse their careers within Major League Baseball. Scout Aid recognizes that career interruptions, health issues, and natural calamities can bring to bear various crises to members of professional scouting. Scout Aid’s intention is to extend financial aid and/or other helpful resources, within means, whenever possible, so as to alleviate family crises and/or financial hardships that pose a burden on scouting colleagues. Scout Aid may, upon deliberation by its officers and board members, and depending upon available assets, extend its charitable work to the greater baseball community. This extended community may include those involved with high school and/or college baseball, Minor League Baseball coaches, or those within baseball outside the state of Texas. Scout Aid shall operate in such a manner as to maximize the amount of donated funds shared directly with those in need. Scout Aid’s officers and board members will serve strictly on a volunteer basis, with only accrued expenses reimbursed by the organization.
